Transfer an employee's pension scheme

How to move an employee onto a different pension scheme.

If you need to move an employee onto a different single pension scheme (SPS), follow the steps in each of the sections below, in back office.

Add an end date

To add an end date to the day an employee joined the SPS, follow the steps below.

  1. Click CorePension then click Maintenance.

  2. Click Employee Details.

  3. In the Employee Ref. field, enter the employee number.

  4. Select Maintain Employee Pension Details.

  5. In the Pension End Date field, enter the end date for the SPS.

  6. Click the save icon then click the exit icon.


Generate a pension benefit statement

To generate a pension benefit statement at the end date of the SPS, follow the steps below.

  1. Click CorePension then click Maintenance.

  2. Click Generate Employee Pension Benefits.

  3. Fill in the following fields:

    • Employee Ref: Leave blank if generating employee benefits for all employees

    • Pension Scheme: To select a pension scheme, click the list icon.

    • Calculation date: The date the pension benefit will be based on.

  4. Click OK then click the exit icon.

  5. Click Maintenance then click Single Scheme Adjustment Centre.

  6. Click the Adjustments tab then enter the values generated in step 2.

    • Adjust contributions, setting the superannuation refund paycode to zero.

    • Adjust pensionable pay to zero by work pattern.

  7. Click the save icon then click the exit icon.

  8. Click Maintenance then click Employee Pension Details.

  9. In the Employee Reference field, enter the employee number.

  10. Press Tab on your keyboard.

  11. In the End Date field, enter the scheme leave date.

  12. Click the save icon then click the exit icon.

  13. Click Maintenance then click Record Pension Option.

  14. In the Employee Reference field, enter the employee number.

  15. Press Tab on your keyboard.

  16. In the Pension Scheme field, enter the pension scheme code.

  17. In the Retirement Date field, enter the date generated in step 2.

  18. From the Chosen Pension Option drop-down menu, select the relevant option.

  19. Press Tab on your keyboard then check the benefits data is correct.

  20. If required, set the Lump Sum and Pension override fields to zero.

  21. If required, click Text then enter a memo relating to this calculation.

  22. Click the save icon then click the exit icon.


Check the start date

To check the start date of the SPS is correct, follow the steps below.

  1. Click CorePension then click Maintenance.

  2. Click Employee Details.

  3. In the Employee Reference field, enter the employee reference number.

  4. Press Tab on your keyboard then click Maintain Employee Pension Details.

  5. Check the start date is correct.

  6. To exit the screen, click the exit icon.


Check the employee pensionable appointments

To check the employee's pensionable appointment date, follow the steps below.

  1. Click CorePension then click Maintenance.

  2. Click Employee Appointments.

  3. In the Employee Reference field, enter the employee reference number.

  4. Press Tab on your keyboard then check the appointment dates shown.

  5. To exit the screen, click the exit icon.


Generate a new pension statement

To generate a new pension statement for the employee, follow the steps below.

  1. Click CorePension then click Maintenance,

  2. Click Generate Employee Pension Benefits.

  3. Fill in the following fields:

    • Employee Ref.

    • Pension Scheme.

    • Calculation date.

  4. Click OK.
